English: Tuol Sleng is a former high school complex that was used by the communist Khmer Rouge as a concentration camp (Security Prison 21 (S-21)) from 1975 to 1979. It is estimated that over 17,000 people were imprisoned and tortured at Tuol Sleng, seven inmates are known to have survived after the liberation by the Vietnamese army in 1979. Today the site is a museum and memorial.
