The Cuadrangulo de los pajaros ( Courtyard of birds ) is situated between the pyramid of the Magician and the so called "nunnery". Four palace-type buildings surround a courtyard with an altar at its centre. The name is derived from the sculptures of birds at the roofs of the palace buildings. The whole complex was built between 8th and 12th century AD.
