The Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall are respectively at 9 Empress Place, Singapore 179556, and 11 Empress Place, Singapore 179558. The older building is the Victoria Theatre, which was designed by John Bennett of the Chief Engineer's Office and constructed between 1856 and 1862. It opened as the Town Hall. The Victoria Concert Hall, originally called the Victoria Memorial Hall, was designed by R.A.J. Bidwell of Swan and McLaren and built between 1903 and 1905. The Memorial Hall was converted into a concert hall in the 1970s. The buildings were jointly gazetted as a national monument on 14 February 1992.
