English: The War Memorial Opera House — on Van Ness Avenue across from City Hall, in the Civic Center district of San Francisco, California.
  • Designed by Arthur Brown Jr in 1927-1928, it is one of the last Beaux-Arts style structures erected in the United States. Construction was completed in 1932.
  • The "War Memorial" name commemorates all the people who served in World War I, which ended seven years before the project commenced.
