English: Witley Court — near Great Witley in Worcestershire, of the West Midlands in England.
-
- Once one of the great country houses of the Midlands, but today a dramatic stone ruin set in the restored Witley Court Gardens.
- The original Jacobean brick house was expanded by Thomas Foley in 1655, and later by his grandson, the 1st Lord Foley. In 1805 the 3rd Lord Foley employed architect John Nash in 1805 for a major reconstruction creating a Neoclassical style residence.
- In the 1850s redesign was done in the Italianate style to the Court, and to the 1750s Witley Court landscape garden park, with significant neo-Baroque fountains and parterres.
- A 1937 fire, and subsequent resale of most removable elements, has left the grand residence a shell of spectacular ruins.
- Present day National Trust property, with gardens and fountains under their restoration.
