            HELLO,
                 I WAS READING MY FAMILY HISTORY AND COME ACROSS THIS. MY GRANDDFATHER WAS A COMMANDER
            IN THE AUSTRIAN ARMY TRAINING IN BOSNIA-HEERZEGOVINA,YUGOSLAVIA. HE WAS COMMANDR(ZUG FUHRER)
            OF KAISER JAEGER (SHARP SHOOTER)UNDER KAISER FRANZ JOSEF FOR THREE YEARS. THE COMPANY CONSISTED
            OF 150 MEN. AS A LEADER, HIS DITINGINGUIHING FEATURE WAS HIS OUTSIZED MOUSTACHE. HE ACTED AS 
            BODYGUARD WHEN FRANZ JOSEF TROOPS. HE WAS THE SHORTEST MANIN THE COMPANY. IN 1898 RUDOLF KIENE
            RECEIVED A COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL CAST IN 1898 IN HONOR OF THE 50 YEARS REIGN OF EMPEROR FRANZ JOSEF
            (1848-1898). RUDOLF SERVED HIS COMPULSORY THREE YEARS. HE DECIDED TO EMIGRATE TO THR UNITED STATES
            IN 1892 BECAUSE HE DID NOT WANT TO SERVE IN A WAR THAT WAS SURE TO COME. HE TRAVELED TO HAMBURG
            AND THEN BY STEAM SHIP TO NEW YORK. IT TOOK THREE SHIPS BECAUSETHE FIRST TWO HAD TROUBLE AND 
            RETURNED TO PORT.IT WAS A VERY ROUGH CROSSING WHICH TOOK SIX WEEKS. RUDOLF LANDED IN NEW YORK 
            2 OF FEBRUARY 1892. HOWEVER,A SHIP THE S.S.SCANDIADID ARRIVE IN NEW YORK FROM HAMBURG ON THAT DATE.
