This category is not unnecessary. We have "xx in competition" for many, many other cars, including for other Porsches. Separating competition cars from street cars aids in finding both, and is not a hindrance to finding either. Please discuss this before listing it for deletion (again). --Spyder Monkey 19:00, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree, please keep this category.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 21:45, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Full ack: Especially not all GT3 are racing cars. On the other side not all 911 racing cars are GT3s. Different categories are necessary! --MB-one 21:53, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
I also think this category is not unnecessary. 997 GT3 is sold as a usual road car and is not sold as a car only for racing. It is difficult to distinguish the sports cars for me, at least. Even if I see the car of Category:Porsche 997 GT3 or Category:Porsche 997, I can not distinguish at once either a road car or a racing car because I do not know well about Porsche cars. If there are so few images in a category, I think it is still not difficult to distinguish (for me and other users). But, there are many images in these Porsche 997 categories. I think dividing big category such as its is necessary and useful for the users/viewers. Making Category:Porsche 997 GT3 in competition will become a means for solving.--Morio 23:58, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
