The federal state of Germany "Sachsen-Anhalt" has its official name in German and as the article Sachsen-Anhalt of Wikimedia Commons uses the german name, so should do this Category of Wikimedia Commons (having redirections from the English and other translations of the name to Category:Sachsen-Anhalt).

Should it be Category:Sachsen-Anhalt according to the name of the state or has it to be Category:Saxony-Anhalt according to its English translation?

There is a discussion about this (partly in German) on the page Category_talk:Hesse.
