My name is Fred Xavier and I am a user in pt.Wikipedia. I was sysop too. The user MachoCarioca was bloqued in pt.Wikipedia for 3 days (look here). Reason: insults and attacks against other editors. After blocking, MachoCarioca slander and has identical attacks in the Wikimedia Commons. I ask the block of MachoCarioca in this project also, preventing new attacks. That's my turn now (may I ?):

Fellows, editor Mizunoryu, above, asked Xavier to say why I said those things. But, of course, he will never say. There are some things which may be explained here about this guy. I never gave a damn to answer his messages about these kind of requests because everybody knows in Wikipedia-pt who he is, but all things has limits.

So, I'll tell you what's happening here, especially to the young Cornellius and Telúrio:

Xavier said here I was blocked in Wiki-pt for "insults and attacks against other editors". This is a lie and I can give you a proof of it. Any editor who understand portuguese can confirm I was blocked there for react to words written for just one editor, Fred Xavier. Not other editors. And exactly because he was not punished or blocked in the ocasion.

The fact is (can be confirmed for various editors over there, as Mizunoryu) Xavier practices bullying in Wikipedia-pt accusing every editor he has not simpathy for him and looks like 'old editor', arbeit being a new editor, of being 'socks' and 'trolls'. This is his behaviour for years, including his period as 'sysop', long time ago. Wiki-pt is a smaller and different 'wiki universe' from Wiki-en or Commons, which are globals, if he was an editor there or here, for sure he had been banned to edit. And, in this case about my block overthere, he was doing exactly that - again and again - against users Darwin and Clara C, two serious contributors of wikipedia-pt (Clara C is almost a 'founder'). [4][5] (for those who read in portuguese)

Fred Xavier didn't say too, of course, he was blocked less than one month ago for the same act.[6]. Believe it or not, but this was the first time he was blocked for those acts, (He was for other ones too) though he does it for a long time. We now have a new generation of sysops. The others, some of them 'friends' of Xavier, (As I said Wikpedia-pt is a kind 'diferent') were desysoped by the comunity, as him. (I'll show it below)

He said here he 'was' a sysop too. Yes, is right, he WAS. And you know why he is not anymore? FX was desysoped for bad behaviour last year. In fact, he was not 'tecnically' desysoped, but he retreated and asked for his desysop in Meta when he was loosing (by far) a voting for his desysop (1x13) with just six hours after it started. [7]The only, then, to sign against until that moment, was desysoped months later, for bad behaviour too, after stalking other user. [8](Are you getting who these people are?) Xavier, in fact, is the only ex-sysop in wikipedia-pt's history to have fled from a running desysop poll to avoid the term 'desysoped by the comunity', aside his name in this list. [9] (today, and caused by his case, this is impossible, the poll goes to an end, no matter if the sysop asks for his desysop in Meta during the poll, and they have 'desysoped' aside their names in the list if the comunity decides it.

My words, the words because I was blocked there (and here) were a huge protest against this guy for what he was doing in that discussion (what is a common behaviour). Unfortunatelly, I do not ask for block to anyone, this is not my style, for me is cowardness, specially from whom who has a bad behaviour in the comunity. We call this kind of editor 'cara-de-pau' (wood face - a guy who wants punishment to others after doing exactly what they do too). But this guy does and ever has a sysop to attend it. They are very young out there - as Jcornelius here - and have no conditions yet to reflect about a global situation that led to a single one, the X-factor).

Fred Xavier, in fact, is not a real 'editor' in wiki-pt since he was desysoped last year. As you can see by his historic there, this guy does nothing to help the projetct in what it really matters, the main of Wiki, just goes there to discuss and harass users and practices in users page and in our Village Pump (Esplanada), giving statements about things he has no real interest because does nothing to improve the human knowledge in portuguese or accusing others editors from this or that. Wikipedia is just a chat for him, see the historic, please.[10].

Well, this is all. Just to say who is the guy who was asking for my block. I suggest you contact natural portuguese-speaking administrators of Commons. They can say more things about who is Fred Xavier. One of them, Loco085, an administrator here, dennounced Fred Xavier for harassement by email, asking for his vote, when he(believe) was a candidate to ArbCom (of course he was not elected). Loco085 can confirm that.

PS2 And that was not just 'an upload', but an obvious one. And I provided source, NASA, of course, is an astronaut. But this is not the case here.

I must say MachoCarioca is a good user. He's quite tempered, especially with obvius things. But this is not the case. His conflicts are always with administrators, administrators from old school. I must agree with him we have young sysops who are no yet able to do a godd judgment. FX should have been blocked with MachoCarioca, because FX only appear to inflame discussions and poke the bears. He bullied PatríciaR (talk · contributions) on Wiki-pt and this was one of her reasons to abandon our project. But he came even here just to vote against her [11]. Hello, I would like to know on what grounds MachoCarioca was blocked here. I can confirm that MachoCarioca was blocked on pt-Wiki for reacting to provocations and blatantly false accusations made by the proponent of this very block, Fred Xavier, directed especially against myself, who Fred Xavier has insistently accused of being a sockpuppet without ever providing any proof to support his libel. That, gentlemen, is what I would truly call cyberbulling, since I'm the new guy in the playground who apparently is entitled to being slandered by every bull for putting forward a different opinion. Fred Xavier, an old and experienced user, claiming that he is being "cyberbullied" by MachoCarioca, is simply preposterous. Indeed, as has been mentioned above, Fred Xavier has already been blocked on pt-Wiki for that very behaviour of use of libel and cyberbulling.
The blocking policy of Commons refers the use of "gratuitous vulgarity" as a possible cause for blocking, but what was posted here was an appeal over MachoCarioca's block on pt-Wiki in order to be published there as his defence. I do agree that Commons is not the proper place to write an appeal to ones block on another project as MachoCarioca has done here. However, as an attenuation, pt-Wiki does not currently have any place where the blocked user can make a defence over his block, thus it's dependant for that on the use of external means. I believe blocking for five days is way too harsh for what happened here, and I ask the Commons' administrators to review this block. Thanks, --Pperneta (talk) 01:04, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
I am an user of Wiki-pt and I can also testify that several users there, including MachoCarioca (and myself) have been persecuted, offended, slandered and bullied by FredXavier, a behaviour which he has consistently repeated - and that has caused him to be blocked recently. It is ludicrous to see him now "playing the victim". It would be wise for Commons sysops to consult either Wikipedia-pt admins or Portuguese-speaking Commons sysops in order to verify exactly what was going on (since, from what I see, the people involved up to now cannot read Portuguese). Let's end this now. Commons is not a use to be and feed the troll. The Portuguese Wikipedia should be the place to solve this. MachoCarioca is still blocked here. Do you really believe that a 5 day block is the correct punishment for someone who has done nothing more than posting here an appeal over his blocking on another project? And even more when this block was requested by the very person that trolled him into his block in the Portuguese Wiki, Fred Xavier? I have unblocked MachoCarioca for a suspended sentence until the discussion ends and we see what happens. I will be contacting someone who speaks Portugese and can get the discussion about Fred Xavier and MachoCarioca's behavior. On 6 April 2009, at 00:43, Dawoodabro (talk · contributions) erased the picture of Stanford scholar Jean-Marie Apostolidès uploaded by Marie-Josèphe Apostolidès on 1 August 2007 at 08:07, by replacing it with someone entirely unrelated to him. I was about to block after they vandalised two of my images and continued to vandalise others however they stopped after 1 minute of my watching the contributions. Given that the image was unused and apparently uploaded for vandalistic purposes (use in a hoax article), that both the claimed author and the subject of the picture appear to be completely nonexistent and that the issue has already been discussed at en.wikipedia, I've gone ahead and speedily deleted the image. False deletion request.

Hello. I'm not sure how to act at File:Buses at Wimbledon.JPG. An IP (83.216.150.201) has added a deletion request template with a reason which is only vandalism. The comments and activity of BRONSON77 should be supervised

I am not sure if this is best venue for this notice here on commons. The user BRONSON77 has removed the name of Jesus Martinez Frias (a prestigious senior geologist from Spain) from the wikipedia website entitled "Geología (in Spanish) "http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geolog%C3%ADa". indicating, as a first sentence, that "he has not relevance to be included". This is not correct and, above all, it is not true.

I included Dr. Jesus Martinez Frias because, in my opinion, he is, at present, one of the most relevant Spanish geologists. Please, simply google his name! He has a lot of scientific contributions. He is the only Spanish geologist who has a personal and scientific website hosted in a NASA project: http://leonid.arc.nasa.gov/s-jmfrias.html, and he was the Vice-President of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UNCSTD). In addition he has published numerous scientific papers in the best journals (including Nature) and he is considered one of the best meteoriticists and planetary geologists in Spain. I think it is important to consider that he was Co-Chair of the NASA Astrobiology Institute Mars Focus Group and he was one of the recipients of the NASA Group Achievement Awards in 2006.

Many contributions coming from BRONSON77 are related with geological topics from Spain and very curiously with meteorites. This can be easily verified.

I feel that the removal of Dr. Jesus Martinez Frias from the website of "Geologia" is due to some type of "personal animadversion" of BRONSON77. Could some wikipedia "patrullero" or administrator" please check and, if possible, correct this injustice? Dr. Jesus Martinez Frias deserves to be included in the website.

Well, BRONSON77 only removed the name Jesus Martinez Frias from the list "Geólogos destacados", where the only entry for Frias was a red linked "Jesús Martínez Frías (b. 1960)". Also it seems Frias was the youngest person listed there. The removal of such an entry would be fully o.k. in most, if not all wikipedias. If you want that name to stay there, I recommend writing an own article about "Jesus Martinez Frias". This article could then eventually again linked in that list. OK this user has been busy. All of the categories they have created are for highways that do not exist. I'm checking commons deletion policy, there is no method to delete for hoaxes. The IP is doing nothing useful and is just continuing the behaviour that got it blocked on wikipedia. Whilst images of a hoax highway are possibly useful, mislabelling and miscategorising images of real highways as the fake isn't. I've rolled back the edits, deleted the empty categories and given user a final warning. Serial copyvio uploader

It is time to block A22ount (talk · contributions) for good. In spite of several warnings on his talk page back in June, he continued to upload blatant copyright violations, some of which were only just deleted yesterday. User went as far as to obscure text on the image to hide the fact it came from Flickr. Still has one copyvio upload, a copyrighted seal of an educational institution. I've warned the persons behind the two ip-addresses that vandalised the page that any more of that will get them blocked. Mind you, they had not been warned yet. Since they haven't done anything there since 23:25 UTC, I see no reason to protect the page at this moment. Protecting pages is a measure that should not be taken lightly, afaic. I am an administrator on en and have already implemented some range blocks but I can only go so far with that, there are too many IPs to catch them all without collateral damage. I know you cannot help with the problem on en, I am suggesting that you block this account as a promotional username which will have the additional beneficial effect of preventing the account uploading further images for use with spamming en or any other wiki. I agree with Túrelio that there is no reason to block this user on Commons yet. If he starts to misbehave here, he will be blocked, and the duration of the block will probably be influenced by his behavior on en.wp. A pile of copyvios were just uploaded on top of the above linked image. Apparently they weren't even in SVG format, so they can't be parsed to preview them, but they are released for "promotional use" so aren't allowed on Commons, so the offending revisions presumably need deleting. Anon user with IP address 79.177.101.33 (which changes constantly) keeps vandalizing the image [21] by tagging it with deletion tag. When requesting explanation to why is he demanding the removal of this image, this anon fails to respond or present any argument [22]. However, he blatantly keeps tagging this images with del tag without any explanation. He did that before (and while i was away and not monitoring my images) he kept tagging images. I want to ask administrator to either protect the image or warn the anon user from vandalism, who specifically targets Georgia related images. Thanks in advance.
