This page wants to be an interface between the Wikimedia Commons community and the OTRS, aiming at processing licensing questions about the Bundesarchiv's image donation. While most images' licensing seems to be fine, some images have an unclear licensing status. This applies especially when third persons might hold rights to an image (e.g. a photograph of a copyrighted sculpture).

[edit] How does it work?

Images with unclear licensing status should be nominated for deletion and listed on this page along with a short explanation why the licensing is deemed unclear. OTRS volunteers will then send an inquiry to the Bundesarchiv to determine whether the Bundesarchiv accidentally released the image without authorization or whether the Bundesarchiv has a valid explanation for why it is entitled to release the image. If there is no answer for four weeks, the image should be deleted.

Nominate them for deletion and open a new section below. Wait for an OTRS volunteer to process your nomination.

The Bundesarchiv is a German institution, thus communication should preferably happen in German. If there are open requests below, pick one and check its validity. There is no need to process requests without founded doubts about the licensing of an image. Once you found a valid request, create a new OTRS ticket (put it in permissions-commons or permissions-commons-de), asking the Bundesarchiv about the licensing of the image. Note the ticket number next to the request. If there are requests, which have been open for more than 4 weeks, check their tickets for replies. If there is no reply, note this on the deletion request or delete the image right away.

Not done. No doubts about the licensing of the image. Bundesarchiv ensures that they have permission the photographers to release the images under CC-by-sa. No infringment on copyrights of third parties visible. Regards, -- ChrisiPK (Talk|Contribs) 14:18, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
