[edit] Closing a featured picture promotion request

Any experienced user may close requests.

1. In Commons:Featured picture candidates click on the title/link of the candidate image, then [edit].
   Add the result of the voting at the bottom (on a new line with a space first)

2. Also edit the title of the candidate image template and add after the image tag
   featured or not featured
   For example:
   ===[[:Image:XXXXX.jpg]]=== becomes ===[[:Image:XXXXX.jpg]], featured===
3. Save your edit.
4. Open Commons:Featured picture candidates/candidate list, click on [edit], find and copy the template:
   {{Commons:Featured picture candidates/Image:XXXXX.jpg}}
   Then copy it to the bottom of the actual month page on Commons:Featured picture candidates/Old.
5. When it is copied, delete the template from Commons:Featured picture candidates/candidate list.
6. If it is featured:
   1. Add the picture to the list of the four most recently featured pictures of an appropriate category of Commons:Featured pictures, list as the first one and delete the last one, so that the number is four again. Add the picture to an appropriate category itself too.
   2. Add the template {{Featured picture}} or {{Assessments|com=1}} to the image description page.
   3. Add the picture to the chronological list of featured pictures. Put it in the gallery by using this formal way: Image:xxxxx.jpg|x - '''Headline'''<br>created by [[User:xxxxx|xxxxx]], uploaded by [[User:xxxxx|xxxxx]], nominated by [[User:xxxxx|xxxxx]]
   4. Add the template {{FPpromotion|Image:XXXXX.jpg}} to the Talk Page of the nominator.

[edit] Closing a delisting request

1. In Commons:Featured picture candidates/removal click on the title/link of the candidate image, then [edit].
   Add the result of the voting at the bottom (on a new line with a space first)
   '''result:''' x Delist, x Keep, x neutral => /not/ delisted. --~~~~
   (for example see Commons:Featured picture candidates/removal/Image:Astrolabe-Persian-18C.jpg)
2. Also edit the title of the delisting candidate image template and add after the image tag
   delisted or not delisted
   For example:
   ===[[:Image:XXXXX.jpg]]=== becomes ===[[:Image:XXXXX.jpg]], delisted===
3. Copy the actual template from Commons:Featured picture candidates/removal to the bottom of the actual month page on Commons:Featured picture candidates/Old.
4. Delete the template from Commons:Featured picture candidates/removal.
5. If the outcome was not delisted, stop here. If it is delisted:
   1. Remove the picture from Commons:Featured pictures, list and any subpages.
   2. Replace the template {{Featured picture}} on the image description page by {{Delisted picture}}.
   3. Add a delisting-comment to the chronological list of featured pictures in bold-face, e. g. delisted 07.09.2007 (1-6) where (5-19) is changed to the number of keep or delist votes respectively. The picture in the gallery is not removed.
