- A world map is a flat representation of the earth depicting at least two hemispheres (including or excluding Antarctica). If only one hemisphere is depicted, each continent is coded separately.
- World maps: World maps are distinguished from flattened or squashed globes (01.07.04) since they do not retain the spherical quality of a globe.
