como hago para subir un file escrito en worldpad y que tiene fotos. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rafael Martinez Tirado (talk • contribs) 18:10, 5 July 2014‎ (UTC)

Google translation: how do I upload file written in WorldPad and having photos.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like anyone who speaks Spanish is going to answer. You might have more luck at Commons:Café (but I see a lot of unanswered questions there as well). Wikimedia Commons (this site) is a media repository which hosts media files. This includes photographs, scanned images, diagrams, animations, audio (e.g. music or spoken word) and video clips. It usually does not include written documents. Content such as encyclopædia articles or news articles should not be uploaded as files. Instead, they should be entered directly to Wikipedia or Wikinews using wiki markup. Photos may be uploaded separately here if they are within Commons' project scope. No subject[edit]

Danke — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hansen-Lorenzen Erika (talk • contribs) 07:11, 7 July 2014‎ (UTC)

Overwrite image[edit]

I could not overwrite the image File:International_position_on_the_Falklands.png in Wikimedia Commons. Please help fix it. Thank you. Ricky36 (talk) 03:55, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

@Ricky36: It looks like you were able now? Anything else we could help with? -- Rillke(q?) 07:12, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

Upload problem[edit]

I uploaded a picture I took in France using the upload wizard. It originally said the upload was successful. When I completed the Describe tab, though, it then said there was an error: api-error-unknownerror. I've hit retry upload twice, but I get the same error. What now?--Bbb23 (talk) 14:01, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

The Upload Wizard is pretty much in a perpetual state of brokenness and never seems to provide error messages that are even remotely useful. Since you're a long-time user, you might already be familiar with Commons:Upload, which tends to be much more reliable. LX (talk, contribs) 14:40, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
Heh, don't be fooled. I come here mainly to nominate a file for deletion or tag it with a speedy. I've uploaded one other picture before now, and it was quite some time ago. I haven't the faintest memory of how I did it. In any event, I used one of the forms, and it seems to have worked. Thanks for your help.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:00, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Cannot re-upload a file, for which I have copyright, because I didn't tag it properly the first time I uploaded it.[edit]

How can I re-upload this photo and tag it properly? When I try to upload it, it won't upload and I get a message saying that a similar file has been removed.

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Malcolm eight (talk • contribs) 20:30, 28 July 2014‎ (UTC)

Hello Malcolm. Your uploaded file was deleted because it had no Commons-compatible license. If you click on the redlink, you will see the note says "you may re-upload the file, but please include a license tag". However instead of simply trying to re-upload the file, I would recommend you use the procedure at COM:UNDEL, making sure to explain the case in as much detail as possible including the appropriate license that you will use. I hope that helps. Green Giant (talk) 23:11, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Photos sphere (makes with android mobile)[edit]

I had made a photo with the feature "photo sphere", and it is awesome, but I don't know if it is a standard or open tecnology.

--Hari Seldon (talk) 15:40, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

According to, it is an open format with documentation and example code covered by free licenses. The format is currently not supported by Commons, but it looks like it should be possible to implement a compatible viewer for sphere files hosted on Commons rather than in Google's cloud. LX (talk, contribs) 16:23, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, yes it is good point. There are some open source javascript libraries to show this files...[1] or [2] but I have not tested this libraries.

Hilltop Hoods Wikipedia Photo[edit]

Hi There, The current photo on is not of the actual band. We are struggling with changing the photo. We have asked the original photographer to delete it from her flikr account which she did.

The file we want to use is here:

Can someone please explain how I can change this photo?

Thanks, Ben Martin Label Manager Golden Era Records -- 08:08, 30 July 2014 User:Goldenerarecords

Please ask OTRS-permission from copyright owner and when it's received, upload the picture and add OTRS-ticket number--Motopark (talk) 08:13, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
I have no idea what that means my account isn't confirmed so I can't upload a new photo. -- 08:25, 30 July 2014 User:Goldenerarecords
"Account is not confirmed" usually means that you registered it less than four days ago... AnonMoos (talk) 10:08, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

What permission(s)?[edit]

I bought a poster made in 1905. I took a photograph of that poster. I uploaded that photo. I do not know the death date of the artist.

File:Hedwig Boning, Buchhandlung Ohle; c.1905, HS3105.jpg

What should be the permission line? I am perfectly happy for anyone to use the image in any way. -- 13:47, 30 July 2014‎ User:Henrytow

If it was known that Hedwig Böning died on or before Dec. 31st 1943, then {{PD-old-70-1923}} could be used. Without knowing that, I'm not sure that anything is allowable... AnonMoos (talk) 14:17, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

I can upload only 3 pictures at same time[edit]

I can upload only 3 pictures at same time, if I add more than 3 pictures and give information to all pictures, only the first 3 pictures saved and other are waiting and waiting, I must break upload and start next 3 pictures.--Motopark (talk) 19:08, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Which browser, version of that browser, operating system and version of that operating system are you using? Apart from that, there is a patch waiting in Gerrit that should simplify the upload logic internally; don't know whether it will resolve this issue, though. -- Rillke(q?) 19:40, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
