Scope Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope:
GDP maps of the United Kingdom
Used in Global usage
Reason Only map around to show the GDP per capita across the UK. I feel GDP per capita is the best measure rather than GDP on a country with such varying size of sub-divisions. -- Jolly Janner (talk)

  •  Oppose -- Sorry, but I don't like it. Yes, there is no better choice in Commons but this map is just too crude, both cartographically and aesthetically. Some base information (cities, rivers, geographic coordinates, names of some regions, etc) would be useful to help contextualizing the specific information. Also, it is not true that France is shown, as stated in the file info. Finally, the date (2007) should be shown in the scope. -- Alvesgaspar (talk) 19:57, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Labelling's not normally used for chloropleth mapping, as it can clutter the map and draw attention from the focus of the map (the colour shades). I guess I could add some labelling to see how it looks. The date (2007) uses the most recent data and I guess that every year when the data is updated, a new map will become the valued image for the scope. I have added some labelling. Jolly Janner (talk) 16:44, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
