A concave mirror is a spherical mirror with reflection surface defined by an interior of a sphere. There are 4 basic object-image pairs that this mirror conjugates:

1. When the object is beyond the curvature's center (C) of the sphere, the image will be inverted and smaller than the object.
2. When the object is located on the curvature's center, the image will be inverted, same size.
3. When the object is located between the curvature's center and the focus (F), the image will be inverted and greater than the object.
4. When the object is located between the focus and the vertex, the image will be virtual, upright and greater than the object.

Ein Hohlspiegel ist ein konkaver, sphärischer Spiegel, dessen Reflexionsoberfläche durch die Innenseite einer Kugel (oder Kreis im zweidimensionalen) definiert ist. Es gibt 4 mögliche Objekt-Spiegel Kombinationen:

1. Wenn sich das Objekt außerhalb des Mittelpunktes (C) der Ursprungskugel befindet ist das Bild des reflektierten Objekts kleiner als das Objekt.
2. Wenn sich das Objekt auf dem Mittelpunkt befindet wird das Spiegelbild invertiert, hat jedoch dieselbe Größe wie das Objekt.
3. Wenn sich das Objekt zwischen dem Mittelpunkt und dem Fokus (Brennpunkt) der Linse befindet, wird das Spiegelbild vergrößert und invertiert.
4. Wenn sich das Objekt zwischen dem Fokus und der Oberfläche befindet wird das Spiegelbild vergrößert.
