Gaius Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus (Latin: IMP CAESAR FLAVIVS CONSTANTINVS PIVS FELIX INVICTVS AVGVSTVS ¹) (27 February 272–22 May 337), commonly known as Constantine I or Constantine the Great, was proclaimed Augustus by his troops on 25 July 306 and ruled an ever-growing portion of the Roman Empire until his death. His wife was Fausta and together with her he had three sons, Constans, Constantius II and Constantine II.
