The Battle of Culloden took place on Drumossie Moor, approximately 7 kilometres east of Inverness, Scotland, on April 16, 1746, between the Jacobite army of Prince Charles Edward Stuart and a larger government (Hanoverian) army led by the Duke of Cumberland.
