Damien de Veuster

Blessed Damien de Veuster (1840 1889) was a Roman Catholic priest. He worked at the leper colony of Molokai, Hawaii, and died of the disease himself. Father Damien was beatified in 1995, and the process for canonization is still ongoing per February 2005.
