Description

Agave victoriae-reginae, or Agave victoria-reginae — Queen Victoria's agave; Agavaceae

  • In the Cacti and Euphorbia Garden of Lotusland, in Montecito, near Santa Barbara, California.
  • This Agave species exhibits radial symmetry.


Ecology
  • Agave victoria-reginae is endemic to the arid lower elevations of the Sierra Madre Oriental range in northeastern Mexico.
  • Unsustainable harvesting by plant collectors who value this plant for its striking appearance has severely impacted wild populations.
