English: 'Jacobes', Brightlingsea, Essex. This is one of the oldest timber-framed buildings in Essex. It has a recorded date of 1315 and has many interesting features, including a rare early 16th century polygonal brick stair-turret with battlements and a small crocketed conical roof. This picture shows that feature. |
