| Description |
English: The rock carving sites of Norrköping are concentrated to the area around the river Motala ström (2 x 5 km), which was suitable for settlement during the Bronze Age (c 1800-500 BC). But also around the bay Bråviken it is possible to find rock carvings, in the parish Kuddby on the peninsula Vikbolandet, around 15 km east from Norrköping, there are two sites. Near the farm “Åby gård” ( http://www.hitta.se/LargeMap.aspx?ShowSatellite=false&cx=1534672&cy=6491781&pointX=1534672&pointY=6491781&name=Kuddby 58:1&z=3 ) on the rock RAÄ Kuddby 58:1 there are 13 ships (23-87 cm), 1 frame figure and 4 cup marks. They were carved in those days around 2500-3800 years ago then the bay Bråviken came up to the rock, before the land elevation moved the coast line many kilometres to the north.
Svenska: Hällristningshällen RAÄ Kuddby 58:1är 6x2,5 m stor (VNV-ÖSÖ) i mot NÖ svagt lutande lätt rundad häll i skrovlig och starkt vittrad hällyta, bestående av 13 skepp, 1 närmast rektangulär figur med rundade hörn och 4 skålgropar. Skeppen är 23-87 cm långa konturristning dubbla och alla utom ett försedda med bemanningsstreck. De är i allmänhet ganska grovt huggna. 2 är sannolikt fragmentariska, ett huvudsakligen bemanning i streck och ett en enkel köllinje. Dessa och ytterligare ett är otydliga och ej uppmålade. |
