Common names - Akar Som jawa ; Akar songsong Tamil name – THARAIP PASALAI ‘ground greeny’ Origin: Tropical America 

 Leaf is eaten raw ;  Plant is usedl to  treat Pneumonia, Diarrhea,  Irregular menstruation,

Vaginal discharges. Root is used to treat impotence and respiratory problems ; For Asthma also this 

is given  as medicine.

பெண் பிறப்பு உறுப்பில் வடிதல்களுக்கு மருந்து ; நுரையீரல் , மண்ணீரல் நோய்களுக்கும் மருந்தாக உலகில் இது கையாளப்படுகிறது;பசியைத் தூண்டும் மருந்தாகவும் இது பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது ; இலையைப் பச்சையாகவும் உண்ணலாம் .
