Description
  • Italiano: Anonimo lombardo del sec. XV, "Affresco dell'Elefante" (1473). "Corte ducale" del Castello sforzesco a Milano, Portico dell'Elefante. Del dipinto rimane purtroppo solo la preparazione, compiuta con la più resistente tecnica dell'affresco, mentre i minuziosi dettagli, aggiunti a secco, sono spariti e non sono più visibili ad occhio nudo.   • English: Anonymous painter from the 15th century, "Elephant fresco" (1473). In the "Duke's court" in the Castello sforzesco at Milan, beneath the "Elephant arcades". The fresco is very faded, only the basic surface surviving, all details (added with the fragile "a secco" (dry) technique, having meanwhile disappeared.
