Summary[edit]

Description
English: The 1955 5D6A Bassman 410 is born. Following the 5D6 which had the following circuit changes to the preamp. It is as follows: The 5D6 used a 4.7 Meg global feedback resistor in the preamp and the 220K resistor to ground was omitted. On the other hand the 1955 5D6A Bassman 410 used a 10 Meg global feedback resistor and a 220K resistor to ground. The other differences were the use of dual 5Y3 rectifiers in the 5D6 as where the 5D6A used dual 5U4G rectifiers. The output transformer in the 5D6A is a different number from the 5D6 but i suspect the wattage to be the same at 40 watts. I will confirm this later when i have more time. My 1955 5D6A Bassman 410 was actually made in 1954 with redish orange 54 script inside the cabinet. Though it has a 1955 march EC date code, all part numbers are dated August & September 1954. My serial is 0823. These amplifers were the first 410 bassmans made and the tone is heavenly to say the least. More specification to come/
