| Description |
Deutsch: Die 1883 bis 1885 von dem Architekten Otto Goetze erbaute Cumberlandsche Galerie in Hannover war ursprünglich ein Ergänzungsbau für das im Künstlerhaus eingerichtete Museum für Kunst und Wissenschaft. Das Gebäude diente unter anderem von 1903 bis 1966 als Vaterländisches Museum, dem heutigen Historischen Museum Hannover. Nach Nutzung durch das Amerikahaus wurde der ursprünglich 9-achsige Hauptbau mit drei Saalgeschossen unter Beibehaltung der Backsteinarchitektur der Hannoverschen Architekturschule entkernt. In dem heute für das Schauspiel Hannover genutzten Gebäude findet sich das in weiten Teilen erhaltene historische Treppenhaus, das unter anderem Theateraufführungen dient. |
