Summary[edit]

Description
  • English: Left-side transept of Santa Maria del Carmine church, in Milan, Italy. Paolo Camillo Landriani called "Il Duchino" (ca. 1560-ca.1618), Saint James Matamoros (a Spanish word meaning "Muslim-slayer", at the bottom of the painting there is in fact the portrait of the king of Spain (as indicated by the crown), who ruled Milan, another personality at right might perhaps be his viceroy?). Picture by Giovanni Dall'Orto, January 3 2008.
