Summary[edit]
Description94 Spring Bank, Hull - geograph.org.uk - 680316.jpg |
English: 94 Spring Bank, Hull Community wardens passing by the A&R Unisex Hairdressing Salon (now closed) on the corner of freehold street. The banner on the lamppost was part of Hull's much vaunted bicentennial of the abolition of slavery (the abolitionist William Wilberforce was born in Hull and was member of parliament for the city). In the new year of 2008 a BBC local news team asked people across the country what event had been celebrated in Hull in 2007 and were greeted by blank looks all round. |
