Virasundara was een Ceilonees krijgsheer die aan het eind van de zestiende eeuw ter dood werd veroordeeld. Op deze manier hoopte Rajasingha, de koning van Kandy, Sri Lanka, de interne rust te herstellen en de Portugezen op afstand te kunnen houden.

Het vonnis werd uitgevoerd door houten ballen naar zijn hoofd te gooien tot hij overleed.
English: Virasundara is put to death. Virasundara was a Ceylonese warrior who was sentenced to death in the late sixteenth century. By condemning him to death Rajasingha, the king of Kandy, Sri Lanka, hoped to restore internal order and keep the Portuguese at bay. The sentence was carried out by stoning Virasundara's head with wooden balls until he was killed.
