Summary[edit]
DescriptionA view of Hadlow Tower from The Forstal - geograph.org.uk - 992869.jpg |
English: A view of Hadlow Tower from The Forstal The tower is part of a late Victorian gothick castle that was built by Walter Barton May. The tower is sometimes called May's Folly and was originally 170ft high. The tower fell into disrepair in the mid 20th century but was saved from demolition in 1951 when it was restored. However, for safety reasons, the upper section and all the pinnacles were removed making it 20ft shorter and less attractive. |
