Description

Woodblock illustration from a work on 'Chinese' medicine by the 18th century Japanese physician Hara Masakatsu, published in 1807 (4th year of the Bunkwa era). It shows the trajectory of the three footyinchannels and three footyangchannels, with the names of the main acu-moxa locations. The three footyinchannels are the spleen channel of foottaiyin, the kidney channel of footshaoyinand the liver channel of footjueyin. They run from the feet along the lower limbs to the abdomen and chest. The three footyangchannels are the stomach channel of foot yangming, the gall bladder channel of footshaoyangand the bladder channel of foottaiyang. They run from the head to the feet via the back of the neck and the back.
