Summary[edit]

Description
English: Gaddi Baithak,a European-style architecture built in the Basantapur Durbar Square during the Rana period. The white neoclassical building that lays eastern side of the Durbar Square is considered a strange contrast to the traditional Nepali architecture dominating the square. Chandra Shumsher, the then Prime Minister, built the Baithak in 1907, during the reign of Prithvi Bir Bikram Shah.
