Description

Anaptychia palmulata (Michaux) Vainio

[Synonym: Anaptychia palmatula (Michx.) Vain.]

Photographed from a herbarium specimen through a dissecting microscope (x8) showing lobules in the central portion of the thallus.

Anaptychia palmulata was growing on bark at the base of a Quercus alba L. (White Oak) in a woodland near Deer Park Road at the Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area, Owings Mills, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA (Lat. 39o24.576' N,   Long. 76o50.152' W).
