Description

My best guess for this naiad is an Anax spp., but need confirmation.

This is easily the largest naiad of the three, perhaps four, in the man-made pond where it was collected & of course returned. There are also two introduced damselfly species, but this is not a damselfly naiad.

The dragonfly species in this area include the introduced Chinese red dragonfly (Crocothemis servilia), the indigenous Globe skimmer (Pantala flavescens), the indigenous Green darner (Anax junius), and the endemic Giant Hawaiian dragonfly (Anax strenuus).
