| Description |
English: Arriva Guildford & West Surrey 3592 (T592 CGT), a Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer 2, in Guildford Friary bus station, Guildford, Surrey, on route 53. The bus is one of a few owned by Surrey County Council and leased to Arriva, hence the special livery. They were purchased by the council to use up the last of a year's budget that would have otherwise been lost. The idea was to use them on Surrey CC tendered services to the south of Guildford. Arriva's 3591 and 3592 (T591 CGT and T592 CGT) started off being leased to Tillingbourne, but moved to Arriva after Tillingbourne collapsed and Arriva took over some of their Surrey CC tendered routes. Dart T593 CGT went to Stagecoach, and there was also an Optare MetroRider, T594 CGT that saw service with various operators, including Countryliner, but has since gone. The old Tillingbourne fleet number of "592" is still on the bus in this photo. When this photo was taken, 3591 had gone for a repaint into Arriva's new livery and had returned, and it was only a few days after this photo that 3592 went for the same treatment. They were both painted in interurban livery and given route branding for routes 42 and 44. See this photo for a photo of the back of 3592 in this livery. |
