Description
English: Two Arriva Guildford & West Surrey buses in Guildford Friary bus station, Guildford, Surrey. On the left is 6403 (GN04 UDS), a Volvo B7TL/TransBus ALX400, seen laying over out of service. On the right is 3732 (GN54 MYP), a Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban, seen on route 27, despite the fact it wears Guildford park and ride livery. 6403 was one of two B7TLs, the other being 6402, that arrived at Guildford depot at the end of August 2009, to displace the step entrance Dennis Dominators (5214 and 5215). While 6402 was almost immediately sent for repaint, and had returned with a new paint of coat at the time of this photo, 6403 had yet to visit the paint shop. After the arrival of the Volvo B7TL double deckers, odd workings of the park and ride Volvos increased for a while. This was because the new double deckers temporarily weren't allowed on the usual double decker routes due to low trees (the Dominators had more substantial roofs than the B7TLs), so were instead put on the park and ride for a while, thus freeing up the park and ride B7RLEs to go on other routes.
