Description
English: Statue of Artemis of the Seville-Palatine type. Roman artwork, 1st–2nd centuries CE, copy of the neo-manierist style of the late 5th century BC, Pentelic marble. Artemis is identified by her clothes: himation (coat) thrown over the left shoulder and girded around the waist, chiton (tunic) rolled up for running.
Français : Artémis chasseresse, type Séville-Palatin. Œuvre romaine, Ier–IIe siècles ap. J.-C., copie du style néo-maniériste de la fin du Ve siècle av. J.-C., marbre du Pentélique. Artémis est identifiable à sa tenue : chiton (tunique) retroussé pour la course, himation (manteau) passé sur l'épaule gauche et ceignant la taille.
