English: Schematic depiction of a polarized mother cell during anaphase. Apical protein complexes (green). Yellow box highlights evolutionarily conserved apical complexes that are important for polarity establishment and spindle positioning in these two systems. Cell fate determinants (red). Note that the Drosophila NB are apical, while progenitor cells within mammalian epithelia are located basally.
