DescriptionBQM-74 Chukar 1996 08 27.JPEG | MK117 Jato Booster assisted BQM-74 aerial target soars into flight for gunnery exercises of units participating in UNITAS 37-96. The target can simulate aircraft or cruise missiles in a variety of threat profiles. The BQM is operated and maintained by Fleet Composite Squadron Six (FLECOMPRON SIX) aerial target detachment two homeported at Dam Neck, Virginia. UNITAS is an annual operation in which a US Navy task group conduct combined exercises with participating navies. The task group for UNITAS 37-96 include the frigate USS JOHN L. HALL (FFG 32), tank landing ship USS LA MOURE COUNTY (LST 1194) (not shown) and the attack submarine USS NARWHAL (SSN 671) (not shown) | |||||||
