Deutsch: Backofen-Felsen in Freital-Hainsberg, Döhlen-Senke, Bannewitz-Formation (Rotliegend, Unter-Perm), mittel- bis grobkörniger, teils konglomeratischer Arkosesandstein, im untersten Teil relativ feinkörnig („Sandschiefer“) und höhlenartig ausgewittert (daher Namensgebung).
English: The Backofen-Felsen (“Baker’s Oven Rock”) at the south-western rim of the town of Freital (Saxony, Germany), Döhlen Basin, Bannewitz Formation (Rotliegend series, Lower Permian), made up of medium- to coarse-grained, partially conglomeratic arcotic sandstones, relatively fine-grained in the lowest part of the exposed succession. The name of the locality refers to the elongated cave-like features in the rock face of this lowest part which are resulting from the outweathering of the least resistant portions of the rock. |
