Description

Bazentin (Somme, Picardie, France) -
Au cimetière, tombe située à l'un des angles arrière de la chapelle, à quelques pas de la haie, à droite, séparant le cimetière civil du cimetière militaire. Dans le coin supérieur droit de cette photo, on distingue l'intérieur de l'angle de verdure formé par la haie bordant le chemin rejointe à la perpendiculaire par celle entourant les tombes britanniques.
Cette tombe sobre (en béton et non en pierre) présente la particularité de faire apparaître dans un carré blanc (constitué de petits graviers en saillie légère) un ou des noms illisible(s) au seul examen de cette photo, qui fut communiquée par Chantal SAVARY à Marc ROUSSEL pour publication.

Un observateur curieux pourrait obtenir de cette photo une information supplémentaire (et très secondaire) : en comptant le nombre de briques d'un même niveau constituant le mur arrière de la chapelle (au-delà de la tombe au premier plan), et en le multipliant par la taille d'une brique, il serait à même de connaître la largeur approximative de cette petite chapelle.
