Summary[edit]

Description The Bell Huey helicopter on display at Nyngan Railway Station in New South Wales. A gift from the Australian Government it commemorates the occasion in 1990 when nearly the entire population of Nyngan had to be evacuated by helicopter due to severe flooding of the town. The helicopter, UH-1B Iroquois A2-1022, was one of two which flew supplies to D Company, 6 RAR during the Battle of Long Tan in South Vietnam on 18 August 1966. See Bell UH-1B Iroquois A2-1020.
