Der Anstoß zu dieser Dokumentation ergab sich durch die im Jahre 1989 erfolgte Schenkung einer kompletten Kürschnerwerkstatt an das Bomann-Museum in Celle. Der Kürschnermeister Borchardt überließ dem Museum das gesamte Inventar seines im Dezember 1989 aufgelösten Geschäftes in der Schuhstraße 45.
