English: This starved man with his cane, is one of the liberated inmates of Lager Nordhausen, Gestapo concentration camp near Nordhausen, Germany. Liberated by U.S. First Army troops, the inmates of the camp came from all occupied countries and also included Germans who where political prisoners. The concentration camp, according to G-2, 104th Infantry Division, U.S. First Army, contained from 3.000 to 4.000 inmates. Several hundred died of starvation or were shot by Gestapo men and all were maltreated, beaten and starved. 12. April 19
