For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Hüttenarbeiter Zentralbild Quaschinsky 19.3.1952 Roheisen aus dem Eisenhüttenkombinat Ost für unsere Friedenswirtschaft. Das Eisenhüttenkombinat Ost ist der Gigant des ersten Fünfjahrplanes der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik. Wie im Volkswirtschaftsplan 1952 festgelegt, steht es in diesem Jahr vor besonders grossen Aufgaben. Die Herstellung von Roheisen muss wesentlich gesteigert werden , um unsere Wirtschaft aus eigener Produktion aureichend beliefern zu können. Mit Hilfe polnischer Kohle und sowjetischem Erz wird hier Roheisen für die deutsche Friedensindustrie geschmolzen. UBz: Hanno Ludwig vom Hochofen II gehört zu den Initatoren des Sonderwettbewerbes vom 15.III. - 1.5.52 zwischen den Hochöfen I und II, der zum Ziel hat, in dieser Zeit aus jedem Ofen 14.000 Tonnen Roheisen bei verbesserter Qualität zu produzieren.
