For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Zentralmarkthalle, Ladenstraße Zentralbild Junge 3.11.1952 In der Berliner Zentralmarkthalle Über 10.000 Hausfrauen kaufen täglich in der Zentralmarkthalle am Berliner Alexanderplatz ein. Auf 11 600 qm Fläche ist hier nach den schweren Zerstörungen durch amerikanische Bomber eine der grössten Markthallen in modernster Art wiedererrichtet worden. Mehr als 800 Stände bieten eine Fülle von Waren aller Art, wobei Wirtschaftsartikel an der Spitze liegen. UBz: Blick auf die modern eingerichteten Verkaufsstände im 1. Stock.
