For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Leipzig, SAG "Kirow"-Werke Zentralbild Illner 14.9.1953 SAG "Kirow"-Werke Leipzig - ab 1.1.1954 Eigentum des deutschen Volkes. Die Sowjetregierung überführt am 1.1.1954 unentgeltlich 33 SAG-Betriebe in das Eigentum der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik. Diese 33 Grossbetriebe stellen überaus wichtige Erzeugnisse her und sind von grösster Bedeutung für die weitere Entwicklung der Volkswirtschaft und die Verbesserung der materiellen Lage der Werktätigen. Eines dieser 33 Grossbetriebe sind die Schwermaschinenbauwerke "S.N.Kirow" in Leipzig. UBz: Aussenansicht der "S.M.Kirow"-Werke, Werk I.
