For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Erfurt, Ankunft von französische Arbeitersportlern Zentralbild Wittig Str-Sta 29.1.1954 Französische Arbeitersportler in Erfurt. "Wir kommen zu Euch in einem Augenblick, in welchem in Berlin die vier Aussenminister über die Zukunft Deutschlands beraten. Wir wünschen dazu von Herzen eine friedliche Lösung, die gestattet, ein freies, wiedervereintes, friedliebendes Deutschland zu schaffen", sagte der Leiter der französischen Arbeitersportler-Delegation und Sekretär des Pariser Komitees des FSGT (Sportvereinigung der französischen Gewerkschaften), Jan Pelgas, beim Empfang im Hotel Erfurter Hof in Erfurt am 26.1.1954. UBz: Der Leiter der Delegation Jan Pelgas wird von Geschäftsführenden Vorsitzenden der Industriegewerkschaft Metall des Bezirkes Erfurt, Buhler, begrüßt.
