Weimar, Schloss, großer Festsaal

Zentralbild TBD (Wehse) 7.5.1955 Zur Schiller-Ehrung 1955 Ein Blick in das Weimarer Schloß Der große Festsaal des Weimarer Stadtschlosses, auch "Weisser Saal " genannt, der von Heinrich Gentz nach Goethes Wünschen gebaut worden ist, umfaßt zwei Stockwerke und spricht durch seine harmonische Geschlossenheit besonders an. Die Gipsplastiken und reliefs hat Friedrich Tieck geschaffen. Der Saal wurde 1953 zur Lucas-Cranach-Ausstellung restauriert. Während der Zentralen Schiller-Ehrung in Weimar werden in diesem Saal, der am 9.5. durch eine festliche Stadtverordnetensizung eröffnet wird, verschiedene Schillervorträge von nahmhaften deutschen und ausländischen Wissenschaftlern gehalten.
