Der Kulturbund zur demokratischen Erneuerung Deutschland, Zentrale Kommission Natur- und Heimatfreunde, führt mit dem Fachausschuss Fotografie und dem Zentralrat der Freien Deutschen Jugend in der Zeit vom 4. November bis 2. Dezember 1956 eine Fotoschau der Amateure im Grassi-Museum Leipzig durch. In einer Pressekonferenz am 3.11.1956 sprach der Vorsitzende des Fachausschusses Fotografie, Prof. Widmann, über die Förderung der Amateur-Fotografie in der DDR.
