For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Sturm 19.7.1958 Voigt-schä USA-Hubschrauber-Besatzung rückgeführt. Acht Offiziere und ein Feldwebel der amerikansichen 3. Panzer-Division, die am 7. Juni 1958 von Westdeutschland aus in einem Hubschrauber widerrechtlich in das Gebiet der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik eingeflogen waren, sind am 19. Juli 1958 rückgeführt worden. Sie wurden vom Präsidenten des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes in der DDR, Dr. Werner Ludwig, dem Direktor des Amerikanischen Roten Kreuzes für Europe, Robert Storey W. am Grenzübergangspunkt Töpfen übergeben. UBz.: Die amerikanischen Armeeangehörigen beim Passieren der Staatsgrenze der DDR.
